3 versions of a solo performance
+ small talk + Japanese style curry 🍛
★Last month, Studio ANTI-SPACE hosted 1(忘)LDK, the Montréal version of the performance project by Japanese artist Yoeh Noda, who moved to Montréal last year. It marked both the project’s Montréal premiere and Yoeh’s first performance in the city.
★1(忘)LDK is a performance project that began in Japan in 2023. Based on a shared instruction text, each artist creates their own performance—one that is created alone, performed alone, and carried by a single person.
★This time, alongside Yoeh Noda, two artists ─ kita and Joy Boissiere ─ have joined the project to create and present 3 different interpretations of 1(忘)LDK.
Although each performance is based on the same instruction text, every version takes on its own unique form. We invite you to experience and compare these 3 interpretations.
★Feel free to arrive whenever you’d like and come and go throughout the evening. We’ll also be serving Japanese-style curry during the intermission. 🍛

Artists
kita is an artist living in Tiohtià:ke/Moniang/Montréal. Their work is motivated by an endless curiosity for the experience of living. Movement is at the core of their practice, which also includes writing, illustration, costume, and painting.
Joy Boissiere is a non-binary artist based in Tiohtià:ke/Moniang Montréal. Her work takes place in performance, installation, exhibition and shows. As a multidisciplinary artist, she occupied roles of technical and artistic director, scenography, technician, operator and cultural coordinator. She develops her subjects or research-creation about obscenity, timidity, movement and absurdity. Her tools are lighting, projection mapping, stage technique and dance performance.
Yoeh Noda is a performance artist from Japan, born in Nagasaki and raised in Hiroshima to Japanese and Taiwanese parents. Her practice explores language, identity, and power through performances that work with Japanese, Taiwanese Mandarin, and Taiwanese, often experimenting with bodily “mistranslations.”
